Deric “Scooter” Davis Remains Undefeated, Dominates Joaquin Faccio in San Antonio

The Washington, D.C.-area lightweight improves to 13-0 after delivering a commanding eight-round performance, proving his future in boxing is about more than knockout power.

SAN ANTONIO, TX — Deric “Scooter” Davis continued his undefeated professional career Saturday night, defeating Joaquin Silva Faccio by unanimous decision inside the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. Competing on the Top Rank-promoted Emanuel Navarrete vs. O’Shaquie Foster championship card, the rising lightweight prospect improved to 13-0 with 10 knockouts after completing eight rounds against the Uruguayan fighter.

The judges awarded Davis the victory, with a reported score of 80-72 reflecting the commanding nature of his performance. While boxing fans have grown accustomed to seeing the explosive lightweight finish opponents before the final bell, Saturday’s victory offered another opportunity to evaluate his development as a professional fighter.

For a prospect who entered the evening with 10 knockouts in 12 victories, the ability to complete eight rounds and secure a decisive victory is another valuable step in his progression toward championship-level competition.

More Than Just Knockout Power

Knockouts build excitement, but boxing intelligence builds champions. Davis has already demonstrated that he possesses the punching power to make an impression in the lightweight division. The bigger question as his career develops is whether he can consistently translate that power into victories against increasingly experienced opponents who are prepared to survive his offense.

Saturday’s result provided a different kind of statement. Rather than adding another stoppage to his highlight reel, Davis walked away with a convincing victory on the scorecards, further establishing the versatility that will become increasingly important as his competition improves.

For young fighters who become accustomed to ending their nights early, extended rounds can provide an opportunity to develop patience, improve conditioning and understand how to win without relying exclusively on punching power. Davis is building the kind of professional experience that cannot always be measured by his knockout percentage.

Built in the Nation’s Capital

The undefeated lightweight represents a boxing culture that has produced some of the sport’s most recognizable talents. Training under respected coach Barry Hunter at Headbangers Boxing Gym, Davis has developed in an environment known for producing world champions and preparing fighters for the demands of elite competition.

His experience also extends beyond his professional record. Davis has shared the ring in sparring with established names including Gervonta “Tank” Davis, Stephen Fulton, Lamont Peterson and Shawn Porter, gaining exposure to the speed, intelligence and physical demands associated with championship-level boxing.

That experience helped attract the attention of Top Rank, which signed Davis to a long-term promotional agreement in September 2025. The partnership placed one of the nation’s promising young lightweights on a larger stage, creating opportunities for Davis to establish himself in a competitive 135-pound division.

For a young fighter whose amateur career included 158 victories, the transition from promising prospect to legitimate contender is about more than maintaining an undefeated record. It requires the right opposition, continued development and a team capable of building a fighter for the long term.

What’s Next for Scooter Davis?

At 13-0, Davis remains one of the undefeated lightweights worth following as a new generation of boxing talent begins positioning itself for greater opportunities.

The lightweight division has historically rewarded fighters who combine technical discipline with explosive offense, and Davis possesses the foundation to continue building toward that standard. However, the difference between an exciting prospect and a world champion often comes down to how a fighter develops when the competition becomes more demanding.

Saturday’s victory adds another eight rounds of professional experience to Davis’s résumé and keeps his momentum intact. The next challenge will be identifying opponents who can further test his defensive awareness, adaptability and ability to control a fight against stronger competition.

For now, Scooter Davis remains undefeated, and at just 24 years old, the Washington, D.C.-area talent still has considerable room to develop.

His knockout power helped introduce him to the boxing world. His continued development will determine how far he can go.
